1. Road Infrastructure:
The road caters to the need of traveling public from Yelahanka, Devanahalli and Hosakote Assembly constituencies for going to and returning from Bangalore City and other important centers.
The road was constructed at the national highway standard and it also facilitates easy access to the new International Airport at Devanahalli for the people living alongside of the road and in the surrounding areas which include the world famed tourist destination called Nandi Hills and the Kolar Gold Field which is now being developed as a tourist destination.
Before the Bagalur road project was taken up the road had remained without maintenance or repair for 25 long years and it was full of huge potholes and even difficult for foot travelers to pass through it. Such being the case, road robberies were taking place and there was no safety on the road especially during night.
The project was fully completed within a record time one year and inaugurated on 1.6.2006 by the Chief Minister of Karnataka to the jubilation of one and all.
A mention may be made here that the above project was cleared by the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation after protracted deliberations as it was considered to be 'unusual project' and as it obviously had great potential for corruption and making illegal money by all concerned. The Committee, vide its approval proceedings noted "it may be noted that this relaxation of the guidelines on MPLADS which was a special case should not be quoted as Precedent and that such type of works should be discouraged under MPLADS in future."
The relaxation by the Government of India in this case obviously was due to the trust and faith they reposed on Dr. H.T. Sangliana, who has been known for honesty and integrity all these years. Due to that the government of India sanctioned the project treating it as a "Special Case".
2. Action taken for medical treatment of Citizens in distress:
During the past two and half years Dr. H.T.Sangliana has sent 510 DO Letters to the Prime Minister of India, 167 DO letters to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and 17 DO letters to the Worshipful Mayor, Bangalore Mahanagara Palike requesting them for financial assistance from their respective Relief Funds to the seriously ill people from his constituency.
So far, Rs. 31,71,999/- from the PM, Rs 2,00,000/- from the CM and Rs 15,000 from the Mayor has been received and paid to the Hospitals where the patients took treatment mostly for Cancer and Cardiac disorder. It is reliably learnt that no other MPs from Karnataka and other states had received such grants as much as Dr.H.T.Sangliana had received.
