Addressing a press conference here today Mr. Sangliana stated Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had been squandering money on religious places and had been indiscriminately doling over state funds to the religious institutions which has made the state short of funds for developmental works. He wanted the CM to give an account of the funds spent on religious institutions.
Objecting to the statement of home minister Dr. V.S. Acharya on security to people of Bangalore women in particular, Mr Sangliana said Dr.Acharyas statement was in bad taste and totally irresponsible. Dr. Acharya had stated that it was not possible to fix CCTV to every house. Mr. Sangliana said nobody had asked Dr. Acharya to fix CCTV to every house but what did the home minister do to provide security to women in Bangalore. What did he do to improve the efficiency of the police force he queried.

Criticizing the Chief Minister for not attending the meeting called by the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram Mr. Sangliana said, when all the Chief Ministers of the country were discussing security issues, Mr. Yeddyurappa was busy in ushering his son into politics he added.
Mr. Sangliana said the police commissioner of Bangalore Shankar Bidari had failed to read the writing on the wall, the entire Bangalore city was being plagued by Hindu Jagarana Vedike's inflammatory graffiti and the police had done nothing to catch the culprits. It was giving a bad name for the city he added.
He said the Moral police had become more active than the state police, women were being beaten up, minorities being persecuted, but the police had done nothing about it.
He alleged that vested interests were usurping the land belonging to the Christian minority institutions. He said attacks on common people in Mangalore had given that city a bad name.
